Are you looking for some extra support to navigate the holidays?
Come join our workshop this Thursday 30th Nov and learn how to navigate diet talk and more.
This time of the year can be the most stressful time of the whole year. The days are shorter, then evenings (and mornings…) so much darker. It is colder or wetter, or both. And maybe you are like me and feel totally ready to shut the world out and just hibernate from now until March.
On top of that, there are stressors around getting work completed before the end of the year, the house needs to be cleaned, Christmas (if you celebrate) to be organised, presents to be bought, cards to send… You know the drill. I feel exhausted by just typing that out.
There are of course other challenges that present themselves if you are struggling with your relationship to food and your body, when so much of the holiday season centres around food. And then there’s the socialising.
Feeling stressed about meeting people you haven’t seen for a long time, especially if you have gained some weight since the last time you met with them. Or being around family members / colleagues / friends / acquaintances that love talking about their latest diet, how “good” or “bad” they are being, or even body commenting or body shaming. Their own or others.
It can be a lot.
This Thursday Nov 30th, myself and will be hosting a free workshop and gathering to offer support to anyone who feels like they can do with some, around how to navigate the food & body stuff that often comes up this time of year.
It is completely free and you can register here to attend (so that you get the Zoom link you need for the call).
We are looking forward to facilitate a safe and welcoming space for conversations around:
How to handle Diet Talk (what it is and why it is harmful) and how you can navigate it when it comes up with ease and grace.
How to set boundaries around Diet Talk that feels good to you.
How to navigate conversations around food, eating and socialising.
Exploring the what it might be like if you are not starting a new diet in January. How might that impact on how you eat over the coming weeks?
There will be lots of opportunities for questions too. I have found that struggling with food and body image stuff can be lonely and isolating. And then when you decide to break free from dieting, this too can feel lonely as diet talk is E V E R Y W H E R E.
Finding likeminded people and knowing that you are not alone, can feel so nourishing.
Sign up to secure your place here. This is happening live and we are not offering a recording for this one. I hope you can join us!
I am planning some more content for Dec along these lines, so if you can’t make the workshop but have some questions feel free to email me, linn@straightforwardnutrition.com. I might just answer your question (anonymously) for next week’s podcast episode.
If I don’t “see” you Thursday, I hope that you have a lovely rest of your week.
With blessings,
Linn
P.S Maybe you are noticing that this has shown up in your inbox a little earlier than usual. That is because I wanted to let you know about the workshop + I am also writing an essay for a course that I am doing and much time is taken up by that. Hopefully we’ll be back to usual Friday schedule next week.
